The Dota 2 Rank Quiz Tool
The Rank Quiz Tool is a Dota 2 quiz show: 12 questions, 12 seconds each, and at the end the medal your game knowledge deserves, from Herald 1 to Immortal. The questions are built fresh every round from the game’s own data, so no two games are the same and you cannot learn the answers by heart. Axe tried. Axe forgot them on the way to the buzzer.
- Hit the red button and answer 12 questions: three each about items, heroes, timings and spells. Keys 1–4 work too.
- Be right and be fast. A right answer gives 100 points plus up to 50 for speed. Too slow counts as wrong.
- Get your medal with stars, see which category was your weakest and share the result. Your friends get a link that says “beat that”.

Dota 2 ranks in order: every medal with its MMR
From lowest to highest. The MMR numbers are community estimates collected on Liquipedia. Valve never published the formula, the medal also uses hidden factors, and being off by a few hundred MMR is normal.

Quiz rank vs real rank: why knowing Dota is not MMR
The Rank Quiz Tool measures what you know. Your real medal measures what you do: your MMR goes up and down with every ranked game you win or lose. Knowing that Roshan comes back after 8 to 11 minutes helps only if you are standing in the pit when he does.
- Your medal is not only MMR. Valve adds hidden factors, and the system remembers your best level, not only your current one.
- Roles change the medal you see. Since 2020 the medal shown in matchmaking can differ with the role you queue for.
- New season, new chance. About 10 games calibrate your MMR, and at a season start you can choose to recalibrate in the settings.

FAQ: Axe answers questions
What are the Dota 2 ranks in order?
Herald, Guardian, Crusader, Archon, Legend, Ancient, Divine, Immortal. Every rank from Herald to Divine has 5 stars. Immortal has no stars, the best players get a leaderboard number instead.
What MMR is Legend in Dota 2?
Roughly 3,080 to 3,849 MMR, by the community estimates on Liquipedia. Valve keeps the exact calculation secret, and being off by a few hundred MMR is normal.
What is the highest rank in Dota 2?
Immortal. It starts above Divine 5 (about 5,420 MMR by the estimates). Players on the regional leaderboards show their place under the medal, with special medals for the top 1000, top 100, top 10 and number 1.
Is the Rank Quiz result my real Dota 2 rank?
No. The quiz ranks your Dota knowledge: items, heroes, timings and spells. Your real medal comes from your MMR in ranked games. Dota Rankup shows it after one Steam sign-in.
How many games does it take to get a rank in Dota 2?
About 10 ranked games to calibrate, according to Liquipedia. At the start of a ranked season you can also choose to recalibrate under Settings → Account → MMR Recalibration.
